Online Resources

There’s a wealth of resources available to you online. Whether you need help researching and writing your assessments, getting started and keeping on track with your studies, brushing up on computer skills needed for your course, or questions about our policies and procedures, you’ll find it all online.

FAQs knowledge base

The FAQs knowledge base is your one-stop-shop for information about studying at Open Colleges. It contains more than two-hundred questions and answers that students have been asking us over the years. So if you have a question, it’s likely someone before you had the same one.

Policies and procedures

All the policies and procedures that relate to students are accessible online for you to check at your convenience. We have policies and procedures to cover all aspects of your online learning with Open Colleges. They are available in our Student Lounge under… you guessed it… Policies and Procedures!

Study skills resources

Our study skills resources are particularly useful if you haven’t studied for a long time. But even if you have, it’s worth looking through them for some fresh ideas about how to research, write and think about your assessment tasks. You’ll also find tips for organising study around your busy life and picking yourself up when you’ve fallen off track. Study skills resources can be found in Learning Support and Workplace Learning Support.

Computer resources

You’ll need some basic computer skills to study online, so we’ve written you a guide to help you with those. For help in navigating OpenSpace there are links to how-to videos. And then there’s our FAQs knowledge base which contains loads of information about commonly asked questions, getting around OpenSpace as well as some technical answers to course-specific and general computer requirements.

The Library

Within the OpenSpace library you’ll find the GALE Library. The GALE Library is your main research library. It’s a vast resource that contains articles about any subject that interests you and it’s updated daily. Also in the OpenSpace Library you’ll find references to other online libraries and databases so the possibilities for finding information are endless.
