At Total Fabrication we need to understand basic maths so that we can do the simple calculations and equations that we use in the trade. Basic maths makes more sense when you apply it on the job.

In this task, you will learn the four basic rules to perform calculations.

Before you start this task it is important that you are familiar with the Metal Fabrication Industry. Check with your instructor that you can begin.

What to do now

As you work through this task:

  1. Keep notes in your Workbook.
  2. Find keywords and their meanings in the Glossary.
  3. Find out about metal fabrication tools in the Toolbook.
  4. Talk with other students and your instructor in the Contact area.
  5. Ask your instructor about workplace projects, competency and assessment.
